What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot stated that he was landing at Robertson (4B8) when he apparently landed long and could not stop. He left the end of the runway and rolled slowly down an embankment into the chain link fence. He said he was going very slow but he could not stop the aircraft and hit the fence at 1 or 2 mph. Damage assessment was noted as only a scrape on the propeller spinner. No other damage was noted. Pilot did state that he keyed the radio to put on the runway lights but they did not come on. Airport operator privacy data omitted later said the person charged with turning them on did it improperly. The pilot said it was not a factor in his landing.
