From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During operation at an altitude of approximately 9500' MSL, the pilot reported the engine went to a reduced power condition. The aircraft landed without incident in a field; however, during taxi, the left main landing gear wheel went into a rut and the propeller struck the ground. A post incident investigation revealed that the #4 cylinder rocker arm shaft failed (broke) causing an engine power reduction and subsequent emergency landing. The aircraft is located 30 miles north of Elko, Nevada near the haystack ranch. The pilot said the VOR fix was 359 degrees from the bqu VOR, 30 DME.
