From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was enroute to northern California when smell of smoke was noticed in cockpit. Pilot elected to land at dagget, CA. Nose gear extended and locked but main gear extended about 1/2 way and failed extension. Pilot later told NTSB the landing gear hydraulic pump failed during the gear extension and he thinks he did not properly use the emergency gear extension procedure. Aircraft landed and main gear immediately was pushed into belly. Aircraft damage was limited to minor belly damage and left horizontal stabilizer when aircraft settled onto its left side. No injury to pilot or passengers.
