From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was performing a touch & go at geu as part of a night currency flight when the aft cargo door on the right side of the aircraft opened during climb-out. Aft door opened rapidly in the airstream and impacted the side of the fuselage damaging the skin and structural members. Pilot landed geu without further incident. Door was not latched properly before take-off. Pilot initially determined that the damage was minor. After maintenance removed the interior trim they discovered that structural members were damaged. Aircraft will require a major repair.
