From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft landed at Laredo International airoprt (lrd) with landing gear unsafe condition known. Nose gear was not down and locked. Aircraft skidded to a stop. No injuries occurred. Aircraft was recovered from the runway and prepared for ferry flight to waco Texas for permanent repairs. This aircraft experienced same problem in 2005. At that time it was believed that a worn actuator contributed to the incident. Inspection of aircraft this time by air impression in waco revealed numerous damaged parts and structure in the nose gear area and system. Unable to positively verify a failure that caused the nose gear to malfunction. FAA will witness final rigging and functional test of the landing gear system when aircraft repairs are completed.
