(-23) On April 27, 2007 at approximately 1940 CDT, N2524J, a Cessna model 150-E, departed runway 17 at Levelland airport (lln), Levelland, Texas. The pilot planned to perform five full stop takeoff and landings under VFR flight rules. Reported wind direction was 080, with a speed of 13 miles per hour (mph) and gusting to 16 mph. When the pilot attempted a third landing, he overshot the centerline of runway 17 flying at above normal approach speed and he lost directional control. The aircraft landed approximately 2000 to 2500 feet from the threshold. The aircraft rolled a short distance and then abruptly veered to the left causing to right wing to impact the runway. Aircraft departed the runway on a heading of approximately 120 degrees and collapsing the nose landing gear and damaged the right wing. The aircraft sustained substantial structural damage to the right lower fuselage, wings, engine mount, engine firewall, nose cowling, nose landing gear and propeller. The pilot and passenger were not injured.
