From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircrew reported to ATC moderate to severe turbulence and experienced momentary loss of control for 20 seconds in-flight between 13,000 & 11,000 feet at 300 knots over lancaster pa. Aircraft log book did not indicate an in-flight discrepancy/occurrence had happened. Aircarrier was reluctant to have aircrew enter the in-flight severe turbulence event into log book. Entry was made into the logbook after a suggestion by the FAA asis on site. A6WA phl maintenance was then allowed to troubleshoot the aircraft, download the dfdr & inspected the aircraft for damage. Read out of the dfdr indicated that the turbulence was within tolerance and no extreme turbulence airframe inspection was required as per amm 05-51-03.
