From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Ballooned during landing flare and upon touchdown, the aircraft began rocking uncontrollably. Aircraft departed the left side of runway 30, crossed an unpaved median, taxiway, and hit a small ditch which stopped the aircraft. The right wing was significantly damaged during the stop. The pilot stated that he thought a wind gust blew him off the runway. However, a CFI in another aircraft holding short of 30 verbally stated that there were no gusty wind conditions, and that the pilot privacy data omitted was high and significantly right of the runway as he crossed abeam of the threshold.
