From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 17, 2007, at approximately 1700 cdlt a skydiver received multiple injuries when he impacted the ground after a partial chute opening due to tangling with another diver's chute. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time. A flight plan was not filed. The flight was for the purpose of a skydiving drop and started and stopped at mathaire (WI97). Upon completion of a stacking formation parachutist 1 passed through the lanyards of parachutist 2 between the canopy and parachutist 2 body. Parachutist 2 cut loose his main chute and landed safely using his reserve. Parachutist 1 cut loose his main chute but parachutist 1 reserve chute became entangled with parachutist 2 main chute. The partly opened chutes caused parachutist 1 to go into a spiral at approximately 3,000 ft. parachutist 1 impacted the ground and received multiple injuries including a broken neck.
