From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 7300 feet MSL, the engine lost power. The engine quit and the pilot privacy data omitted attempted a forced landing on a mesa, approximately 3 miles sw of ksaf. Marks on the ground indicate a ground run of approximately 300 feet with the aircraft coming to rest on a prairie dog mound. All three landing gear legs and the right wing were sheared off. Visual inspection of the fuel tanks indicated approximately 5 gallons in the right wing and no fuel in the left wing. Fuel selector lever was in the left tank position.
