From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The student pilot was landing on runway 27, winds were 200/10 gusting to 16 KTS. Just prior to touching down the aircraft turned sharply to the right. The CFI, airman privacy data omitted, took control of the aircraft, and added power to regain control. The aircraft continued flying to the right of the runway while the airman pulled up to avoid hitting a runway light. While attempting to regain directional control the airman overcompensated to the left, touching down safely in the grass to the left of the runway. There was no aircraft damage.
