What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) privacy data omitted elevator flight controls were hooked up improperly or backwards (pull back on the yoke causes the aircraft to go nose down, push forward causes the aircraft to go nose up). The failure of the controls to be hooked up backwards caused the aircraft to nose over on its back during attempted rotation of the aircraft. Pilot failed to follow preflight checklist which also would have caught the problem.
