From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On landing rollout to a grass landing strip pilot encountered sudden and strong right cross wind. Corrective action did not hold aircraft on runway and it left the runway on the left. After leaving runway in plowed field aircraft entered a ditch and struck the embankment. The landing gear sheared and the left lower wing broke off. The right lower wing contacted a culvert and was damaged. The engine sustained sudden stoppage. There were no injuries. Witnesses on the ground observed sudden gust of wind from the east (right) strike the aircraft on landing roll out.
