From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) An ASI from the wichita FSDO stopped at hetrick air services in Lawrence, KS on 09/07/2007 to look at a CE182 they were adding to their part 135 air carrier certificate. Piper N22HW was observed on jacks in the hangar. There was apparent damage to the RH wingtip, RH aileron, and RH flap. This damage appeared to be from scraping a hard surface (I.e. runway, taxiway or ramp). There was an apparent skid mark on the RH main tire on the outboard sidewall. The RH main gear pushrod was bent and there was a support web in the wheel well that appeared to have been damaged by the bent pushrod. The NTSB was contacted and a determination was made to consider this an accident due to the damage to the aileron. Investigation found the landing gear failed to completely extend prior to landing at lwc on 8/31/2007. After considerable difficulty with emergency manual extension, the pilot noted a gear down indication. During landing roll-out at lwc, the RH main landing gear collapsed.
