From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During climb out the crew felt a vibration and had smoke in the cockpit. The number one engine oil quantity went to zero and the oil pressure was fluctuating. The number one engine was shut down and the vibration ceased and the smoke cleared. Number one engine was being used to power the air condition pack and the smoke was caused by oil leaking from the number one engine being ingested into the air conditioning pack. The crew diverted to skbo and the engine was removed and replaced. There is no shop data available at this time to determine the exact failure point on the engine.
