What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) After conducting a normal landing and takeoff the pilot attempted a no-flap, forward slip to landing. He landed with excess airspeed at approximately midfield. When the pilot realized there was insufficient runway to stop he considered a go around attempt, but instead locked the brakes and slid off the runway into soft sod. The nose gear buckled and the plane came to rest on its nose and wingtip. The firewall was substantially damaged.
