From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On November 7, 2007, at approximately 20:45 local time, N559PB was departing from the Aspen, Colorado airport following the LINDZ4 departure procedure when the pilot was temporarily blinded by an extremely bright laser beam in the cockpit of the aircraft. ATC also stated that another aircraft reported a laser beam tracking their aircraft at 30,000 feet, at approximately the same time. When the police arrived at the horse ranch area located within the snowmass village, a bright green laser beam was transmitted at the police car blinding the police officer. The police officer was not successful in apprehending the individual at that time. The police department is going to put a notice in the local newspaper and try to get any information on this person.
