From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 11/09/07 at approx 11:00 am the pilot privacy data omitted departed iws west bound enroute to brenham, Texas. At approximately 1700 feet altitude he experienced engine problems, losing oil pressure and engine RPM. He declared an emergency and determined his best area was to land on porter road (north bound) just west of mason road and north of I-10. He landed without incident or damage to the aircraft. It appeared #2 cylinder piston rod cap had came off and the rod went thru the engine case. Pilot was alone sustaining no injuries.
