From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that he had extended the landing gear 2 miles south of the mkc airport at 160 mph and 3 green lights were indicated on his final approach to runway 1. As the aircraft touched down for landing and only after the nose gear touched, the pilot applied the brakes maintaining the center line of the runway. At the point where the brakes were applied, the two main landing gears collapsed and the aircraft veered to the right of the centerline coming to rest at the intersection of runway 1 and runway 3. Incident privacy data omitted is closed with this report.
