From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) According to the pilot's written statement and a copy of the Missouri state highway patrol report, the PIC was unable to activate the pilot-controlled runway lights at the warsaw municipal airport (raw), when he keyed his microphone five times as opposed to seven that is required. He diverted to the Clinton memorial airport (gly);however the aircraft's engine quit due to fuel exhaustion approximately four miles from gly. PIC made a successful forced landing on the southbound lanes of MO highway 7. A state highway patrolman transported the PIC to gly, 10 gallons of fuel was purchased, and they returned to the aircraft. The highway was blocked so that the PIC could depart in N9529J and land at gly. Pic's passenger was transported to gly by a patrolman. PIC later stated that he had miscalculated his remaining fuel from the previous flight. This incident privacy data omitted is closed with this report.
