From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The investigating inspector had a telephone conversation with the pilot on November 21, 2007. During that conversation, the pilot stated that he was landing after dispensing his fifth load of product when the accident occurred. He stated that the weather was good and that there was no wind. During his landing roll-out, the aircraft started to drift to the right and left rudder was applied to try to correct the drift. The aircraft then headed to the left side of the runway towards a drainage ditch. When the pilot felt that he was getting too close to the ditch, he added power in an attempt to take-off. He was unable to steer the aircraft away from the ditch and as the left wheel went over the edge, the aircraft was drawn in and sustained substantial damage. The pilot was not injured. There was no evidence of braking and the pilot stated that he did not use the brakes during his attempt to control the aircraft. The pilot also stated that he did not experience any mechanical malfunction.
