From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 12-20-07, N7229R, a home-built aircraft piloted by privacy data omitted attempted to land at a privately-owned runway near Sahuarita, AZ. A motor vehicle operated by an undisclosed person entered the runway in front of him from a private street that crosses the runway. The pilot privacy data omitted initiated a go-around and abruptly advanced the throttle causing the engine to cough, run rough and ultimately not produce full power. The aircraft ran out of airspeed and with an increasing sink rate, landed hard on the main wheels causing structural damage to the aircraft, which resulted in loss of directional control and caused the aircraft to depart the runway and strike an adjoining bush with the propeller. A dps officer privacy data omitted witnessed the motorist cause the runway incursion and provided his statement for this investigation.
