What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) On 12-21-07 an RV7 piloted by privacy data omitted was landing on a grass field at his home base. After touchdown, the roll out was accomplished with the nose wheel held off of the runway and when the nose settled, as the speed decreased, the nose of the airplane began to pitch forward which resulted in the aircraft becoming inverted. The runway was examined, after the incident, and there was no contact with holes or objects prior to the event. There was some evidence of some low soft gopher mounds (approximately 2-3 inches in height) that appeared to come in contact with the two main gear wheels prior to the aircraft pitching over on its nose, and becoming inverted.
