From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On January 16, 2008 at approximately 1430 CST, N42SM, a Beech 58P, during the part 91 flight from texarkana, Texas (tkx) to phoenix, Arizona (phx), struck the right wing on landing while attempting a visual approach to the Hereford, Texas (hrx) airport for fuel. On landing a gust of wind lifted the left wing causing the right wing and right hand propeller to contact the runway. The aircraft veered approximately 30 degrees and departed the runway surface. The aircraft sustained damage to the right engine propeller, left strut, and right outboard wing. The aircraft taxied back to prepared surface to parking under its own power. After taxi-back, the mechanic reported the left strut leaking. The pilot and single occupant did not sustain injuries.
