From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was cleared for a visual approach on runway 01 into Glendale airport, Glendale Arizona. He lowered the main landing gear on downwind and verified three green lights were on and the in-transit light was off. He rechecked that the 3 green lights were on once again on base and on short final as a standard procedure he performs. He then touched down on runway 01 within the first 800 feet. He raised the flaps located on the right side of the power console. He then returned his hand to the throttle. Suddenly he heard a horn sound and noticed the plane was sinking. He estimated that his airspeed at this time was about 60 knots. He decided to pull the throttles to idle and pull the mixtures to idle cut-off. The aircraft slid about 300-400 feet and came to a sudden stop in the dirt on the edge of the runway about 2500 feet from the departure end of runway 19. As the pilot was turning off the fuel selectors he had smelled a faint electrical odor. As he was exiting the pilot seat, the landing gear motor activated on its own and he immediately turned off the master switch and exited the aircraft.

As the FAA filed it
