From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On February 4, 2008 at approximately 09:46 EST, the pilot of N2658W departed lee under a special VFR clearance for a local flight. After departing, he reported a vacuum source malfunction to mco approach control and was vectored for the GPS 13 approach to lee. During the approach, he felt the aircraft strike an object and initiated a missed approach. Lee tower cleared him to land on any runway, and the pilot was able to maneuver visually to land on runway 31. The right main landing gear was damaged from an apparent contact with power lines during the instrument approach, and the tire rubbed against the strut on rollout, acting as a brake and causing the aircraft to veer off the runway. The aircraft sustained minor structural damage to the right main landing gear only. Pilot was uninjured.
