From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Inspector reporting was sitting in the cabin of parked aircraft N329MX awaiting departure briefing and engine start. Aircraft N330MX taxied onto the Grand Canyon airport ramp behind N329MX and began to taxi into parking location to the left of N329MX. Aircraft N330MX was being marshalled into position by company ground personnel that consisted of a marshaller, a right wing walker and a left wing walker. As the aircraft taxied into the parking spot to the left of the parked aircraft (N329MX), the reporting inspector noted that the wingtips appeared very close yet the wingwalker on the rt wing of N330MX made no motion to advise the marshaller of the close proximity of the wingtips on the parked aircraft. The right wingtip (strobe light assembly) of the taxiing aircraft (N330MX) made contact with the left wingtip (strobelight assembly) of the parked aircraft N329MX. No structural damage was noted on either aircraft. It was determined that only the light assemblies required replacement. The wing was inspected by maintenance and the light assemblies to both aircraft were replaced and no structural damage was noted to either aircraft. (6 FAA asis were aboard N329MX performing proving runs).
