From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot privacy data omitted was on a visual flight rules (VFR) flight from monticello, IA (kmxo) to platteville, Wisconsin (kpvb). Enroute he flew over Savanna, IL (ksfy) and decided to practice some landings. His first landing was uneventful. He departed the runway and made left traffic. On downwind he heard another aircraft in the pattern for the same runway he was landing on. Preoccupied with looking for the traffic, the pilot privacy data omitted forgot to lower the landing gear. This resulted in a gear up landing. There were no injuries and minor damage to the aircraft.
