From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that he taxied to runway 01 hold short line. While he was getting the airplane ready for departure, he noticed a flicker of light in his peripheral vision. He turned his head, looking back into the rear of the aircraft and saw flames behind the back seat. He stated that he immediately shut off the engines and exited the plane. While he was climbing off the wing he could see flames at the rear most window of the fuselage, which would be into the rear baggage area. He ran clear of the aircraft and called 911. He estimated that the fire trucks were on the scene within 10 minutes. After the fire was completely out, he called flight service to issue a NOTAM.
