From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At 1100 am on 4-08-08, the pilot departed Boonville Airport (I91) to the east with one passenger on board. Minutes into the flight, at an altitude of approximately 800 feet, the pilot experienced a vibration coming from the front of the firewall. Due to the level of vibration, the pilot elected to make a precautionary landing in lieu of returning to the airport. The pilot selected a field approximately 1.25 miles directly east of the airport, on the west side of route 61. The aircraft was set down in a wet/muddy field. During the roll-out, the left hand landing gear collapsed outward allowing the aircraft to fall left wing low and causing a propeller strike. The pilot and passenger exited the aircraft with no injuries.
