From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)N6660K was finishing with the aerobatic performance and made a final pass from east to west along the show center line. The aircraft was observed conducting right aileron rolls and got lower and lower as he approached the western boundry of the aerobatic box. The airplane came out of a aileron roll late and the aircraft was still turning in a right turn to almost 90 degrees of bank when the right wing hit the ground. The aircraft tumbled in the dirt area west of runway 28R. Previous to this the pilot was advised by the Modesto air traffic control tower to make a right base entry for landing on runway since a scheduled airliner was approaching the airport. The pilot stated that he had too much energy to make a landing at the point so he stated that he would make another low pass down the show line. On this pass the airplane crashed at the west boundry of the airport.
