From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On may 16, 2008, N63977 nose gear collapsed during landing, resulting in damage to both engine propellers and the left wing leading edge. The PIC stated that prior to landing he verified that all three landing gear postion light were illuminated green indicating that the gears were down and locked. Maintenance personnel inspected the nose gear components and surrounding structure; there were no signs of damage. An extension and retraction check of the landing gear system was conducted using hydraulic pressure followed by an emergency extension check using the emergency manual extension procedure. The results of both test conducted were satisfactory. The investigaton could not determine the cause of the noser gear collapse. Based upon the facts that the nose gear operated normally during the functional test conducted and the statement from the pilot that he had three green lights and verified in the mirror on the left engine nacelle that the nose wheel was down. I recommend no further investigation is required;this suspense will be amended should maintenance come up with any additional information that is relevant to the nose gear collapse.
