From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft departed gcn enroutee to ifp, at approximately 16,000 feet the pilot noted manifold pressure dropping, loss of pressurization and engine RPM decreasing. The pilot turned on the boost pumps and switched tanks in an effort to regain engine power. All attempts were unsuccessful. The pilot notified ATC of the engine failure and was given a heading towards the peach springs airport (L37). Due to strong headwinds the aircraft was not able to make the airport. The pilot's intent was to land on the highway but due to traffic he elected to land in a field. As the aircraft touched down the right main gear caught a log causing the aircraft to porpoise and land on the nose. The aircraft slid on the nose and flipped over. The pilot sustained only minor injuries. As a final note, the aircraft was released for recovery by the NTSB on 05/23/2008 and removed from the crash site before inspectors from the las FSDO were able to perform an on site investigation.

As the FAA filed it
