From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After touching down during the planned wheel landing the pilot states that just as the tail wheel dropped the aircraft veered to the left. When the right main went into the soft soil at the edge of the runway the right gear collapsed and folded under the aircraft. This also caused a prop strike. The aircraft sustained some structural damage. The pilot could not explain why he lost control and there has been no evidence of a mechanical malfunction. The weather conditions were reported as winds light and variable.
