From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 3, 2008 at about 1950 EST, pilot took off from GA80 (whispering pines airport) in conyers ga with one passenger for a local sightseeing flight. About 2 minutes into the flight, about 1 NM northeast of GA80 at about 2000' MSL, engine ran rough, with insufficient RPM to maintain altitude. Pilot advised he ran the emergency checklist and elected to land in a field. He advised he shutdown the engine prior to touchdown to minimize damage. Aircraft struck a barbed-wire fence on roll-out causing minor damage to propeller, cowling, landing gear struts, and left horizontal stabilizer. There were no injuries to either the pilot or to the passenger, privacy data omitted, his wife. Weather conditions were VMC and not a factor. No flight plan was filed.
