From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 6/05/08 at 0800 EDT, N2358C, a Cessna, CE-R182, s/n R18200159, owned and operated by privacy data omitted landed on runway 6 at the Great Valley Airport (N56), yn, a public grass runway. After taking off from the same airport to show his two passengers the local sights, the pilot landed but skidded on the grass, unable to come to a stop. He attempted a go around, however he was unable to achieve sufficient lift. The aircraft touched down in a grassy, rocky area and came to rest 581 feet from the initial touchdown spot. Once on the ground, the nose landing gear detached from the aircraft and subsequently the right main landing gear was retracted in its wheelwell. The cattaraugus county sheriff's office responded. No injuries were incurred. This incident is considered closed.
