From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

(-23) Pilot stated: left jones airport approx 1700Z with full tank of fuel headed west on a solo training flight. Approximately 10-miles east of kingfisher VOR he experienced RPM drop of 300 to 400 which reduced engine rpm's to 2,000. The pilot enriched the mixture and turned on carb heat which resulted in normal rpm's of 2,400. The flight was continued towards Elk City, OK; approximately 17NM'S from Elk City the pilot started a descent to 3500 MSL. During the descent the rpm's dropped to 900, the engine started running rough and making loud noises. Wth no airport in site and 1,500 AGL remaining, I decided to make a forced landing in an open field.
