From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N4385W was attempting to land at I74 (Urbana Grimes Field) on runway 20. After touchdown, the aircraft veered left off the runway striking a runway sign with the left wing leading edge, and 3 taxi lights with the underside of the fuselage. The aircraft came to rest in the grass beyond the first taxiway. The pilot stated the following: "after touchdown on all 3 wheels I applied brakes lightly and heard the tires squealling, the plane began to veer to the left. I assumed the left brake was locked up and I released both brakes, but squealling continued and I realized I was going off runway so I braked hard on both brakes and tried to avoid hitting objects with nose wheel or fuselage."
