What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
During a commercial amel practical test, the applicant and pilot examiner failed to recognize a “door open” warning indication on the garmin 1000 display prior to takeoff. During takeoff roll, the rear passenger door blew open, ripped away from its hinges, and departed the airframe. The door did not strike any portion of the airframe, and damage was limited to the door hinges and door assembly. The pilots aborted the takeoff without further incident.
