From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On July 29, 2008 at approximately 1:23 z pinnacle flight 5824, while on takeoff, received a 14th stage duct overheat light. The crew aborted takeoff on runway 22L at Detroit metro airport. They exited the runway before stopping the aircraft. The pilot elected to call an emergency and asked for the fire trucks. After engine shut down they still had an overheat light. The captain made the decision to have the passengers exit through the main exit. During this entire event no one saw or smelled any smoke or fumes. The fire bottles were not discharged. Maintenance inspected the aircraft and determined the right hand 14th stage pylon loop had failed. The loop was replaced.
