From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On takeoff from grass runway 20, the aircraft did not accelerate appropriately. The power and all systems looked normal. The acceleration stagnated at about 40-45 knots. The pilot decided to abort the takeoff and reduced power and applied brakes. The aircraft began to slide on the wet grass surface and departed the end of the runway over a burm, onto a gravel road coming to stop on the side of the road. The nose gear collapsed on impact with the road. The pilot had shutdown the engine and turned off the fuel mixture and magnetos as the aircraft left the runway. Pilot was not injured and damage to aircraft was on the nose gear.
