From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On August 3, 2008 at approximately 2100 hours 'z' at the Flora Municipal Airport a skydiver deployed his main chute and encountered a 'line-over' entanglement of that chute and then performed a 'cut-away' of his main chute at approximately 4000 feet. At the same time the main chute was released his "rsl' device released and droge and risor for his reserve chute. The skydiver became entangled in the reserve chute riser line which inhibited the removal from the bag and deployment of the reserve parachute resulting in the skydiver's fatal impact with the ground.
