From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On approach to Franklin County Airport (18A), incident aircraft was on a long final for runway 08. Incident pilot stated he selected gear down, and deployed the speed brakes in preparation for landing. A Cessna called 3 miles out, with intentions to over fly the airport. Incident pilot stated he selected gear up and retracted the speed brakes. Incident pilot scanned for the Cessna, Cessna pilot indicated he would extend his down wind, and for pilot to continue inbound. At this point incident pilot redeployed the speed brakes and went to 10 degrees of flaps, made a power adjustment and placed the checklist in the front passengers seat. At touch down pilot realized he had failed to lower the landing gear.
