From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) privacy data omitted was letting a pilot, privacy data omitted get several hours of transition time in his aircraft as he was building a similiar aircraft privacy data omitted was in the right seat and privacy data omitted was in the left seat. On short final, with the runway made privacy data omitted told privacy data omitted to pull the remaining power off and let the plane settle to the runway. As power came off, the nose dropped privacy data omitted pulled the stick back a little too aggressively and then forward too aggressively, and the main gear contacted the runway quite hard privacy data omitted called "go-around" and he applied full power and began a climb. The nose pitched up as the power came up, and privacy data omitted shoved the stick forward from approximately 30 feet and we contacted the runway slightly to the left of centerline, in about a 30-40 degree nose down attitude. The aircraft skidded off to the left side of runway and then came to rest.
