From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Airman received a ground clearance to taxi to runway 21L via bravo 6 taxiway bravo. When pilot saw the cones which closed taxiway bravo to the north from bravo 6 intersection, he misinterpreted them as having that intersection closed. He then decided to use the access road that parallels the bravo taxiway. During this portion of the taxiing, the pilot stated, his passenger dropped an object in the cockpit which diverted the pilots attention from the fence on the right side of the aircraft. In the pilot's written statement he noted that the access road had a gradual slope to the right. The right wing tip caught the fence post and made the aircraft turn sharply to the right causing a propeller strike the fence too. The pilot immediately retarded the throttle and pulled the mixture control to idle cutoff stopping the engine.

As the FAA filed it
