From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Nwa flt #20, on climb-out after retracting flaps at approximately 5,000 feet the aircraft displayed an eicas message "stab trim 3". Shortly after, another eicas message appeared "stab trim 2", followed by an "autopilot" caution. The stabilizer trim was stuck at 5.8 units of stab trim. Left and right manual trim switches and alternate trim was ineffective. An emergency was declared and the aircraft landed without incident. The stab trim drive (p/n 65B80562) mechanism was replaced and the aircraft returned to service.
