From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On October 12, 2008 approximatelly 1323 EDT, a Piper PA-30, N99AR, registered to berkshire building services, inc. and piloted by privacy data omitted, advised approach of an unsafe gear indication. On landing, runway 6 at Kissimmee Gateway Airport, the right main gear collapsed and aircraft slid off the right side of runway. The pilot and passenger were not injured and the aircraft had minor damage. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time. Upon investigation with mechanic, we found that the right main strut housing had broken which would not let the right main gear down and/or lock. No evidence of a hard landing. Case closed.
