From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot landed solo at Delphi airport (1I9) to meet the examiner for his private pilot practical test. He could not find a place to park on the main ramp. The main ramp had aircraft parked on it, and aircraft were also parked on the grass adjacent to the ramp on the south and west edges. He decided to park on the pavement south of the ramp. He was on the west taxiway headed southbound and was looking out of the left side window to maintain clearance from a parked aircraft. He hit the right wing against a hangar, with the wingtip contacting the hangar about one foot from the edge of the building. The pilot had flown to 1I9 three days prior with his flight instructor and had taxied to the main ramp and was instructed that was where he was supposed to park and that the airport would not be busy.
