From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This student pilot was returning from a solo cross country and landed on runway 19L with a 5 knot right crosswind. The aircraft reportedly bounced twice and in the student's words was "hoping side to side". The aircraft departed the left (east) side of the runway and struck two runway lights, putting a dent in the underside of the engine cowling and a scuff on the right wheel fairing. The student taxied the aircraft to the hangar and called the instructor to inform him of the incident.
