From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During landing at rwy 17, the wheel and nose gear assembly (wnga) separated from the nose landing gear oleo strut. Post incident investigation revealed only one of the four required (an 5-12A) was installed on the wgna. The wgna pivoted (90 degrees) around the single bolt either in flight or during landing. When the nose tire touched the runway sideways, the configuration/stresses caused the bolt sheared off with a portion of it remaining in the nutplate on the wgna. The other three nutplates had no evidence of thread damage or elongation.

As the FAA filed it
